Sean Tyson

Sean is Head Coach and Director of Basketball Operations at Saskatoon Basketball Academy. Tyson played at Clemson University where he won an ACC championship and appeared in 3 NCAA tournaments in 4 years at the school. A first round 10th pick of the CBA Grand Rapids Hoops in 1991, Sean began his career working for the organization as a player development coach in 2002. He then moved on to the Great Lakes Storm (CBA) where he became the video coordinator and assistant coach for 2 seasons. He became the interim head coach in the 2004 season. In 2004-05 he was the assistant coach at Mercyhurst College. In 2015 he led Team Saskatchewan to a Bronze Medal finish at the Western Canada Summer Games. Sean was on the coaching staff at the U16 and U18 Canada National Assessment camps in 2018-19. He serves as Technical Director for one of Saskatchewan's top basketball clubs Greenwave United and also holds a USA Basketball Associates license.
